• Put a little spring in your franchise business

Spring has officially sprung in most parts of the U.S. and Canada (although I heard that it snowed in Michigan this morning). While residents of the Midwest shovel their driveways one last time, the rest of us can appreciate the fact that our world is a lot greener than it was just a month ago. While it would be nice if we could do business outside, that isn’t always possible. However, here are some ways that you can appreciate the season while running your franchise business.

  • How Businesses Can Safeguard Information and Property
No need for a padlock- simple precautions will suffice.

With all of the recent talk of the Heartbleed bug, many franchise businesses may find themselves wondering how they can protect their data from cyber attacks or intrusions. Unfortunately, cyber attacks are just one way that sensitive data can be compromised. For maximum safety, franchise businesses need to use a combination of physical, administrative, and technical safeguards.

  • Franchise Marketing Techniques: Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater
In-person communication: effective, meaningful, and won't use up your data plan

As a young member of the millennial generation who has worked in IT for several years and who writes about social media/blogging/website best practices for a living, I think I’ve got a pretty good grip on how to use technology for franchise marketing.

Admittedly, I often find myself telling older people (such as my parents) that “technology is the wave of the future and print is all but dead, save for a few occasions.” [Insert parental eye roll.]

  • The Importance of Active Listening in Franchise Businesses
Don't leave your customers feeling like this!

Everyone knows that you should listen to your customers, but very few people seem to understand what active listening is. Active listening is important not just for franchise business owners, but for all franchise employees.

  • Housing Market Growth Spurs Remodeling Trend

As we discussed in Monday’s post, the housing market and economy both continue to shows signs of a rebound as we enter into the second quarter of 2014. Real estate franchise businesses aren’t the only ones capitalizing on this trend- remodeling franchise businesses, such as Renovation Realty, are also helping homeowners renovate and/or sell their properties.
