MARIO ALTIERY

President/Founder

Mario J. Altiery, CFE, Founder and President of Upside Group Franchise Consulting, began his career as a franchise business consultant with a large franchise conglomerate in 1995. Working in all aspects of franchising, Mario progressed through the ranks, and in 1997 he was promoted to Vice President. It was as Vice President that Mario pioneered new sales and marketing processes, creating a number of landmark programs including a nationally implemented franchise resale program, institutionalized royalty maximization training seminars and international expansion. Also during this time, Mario authored an industry recognized Head Start program designed to jump start revenue for new business owners. In 2000, Mario founded Upside Group Franchise Consulting, a full service, boutique franchise consultancy with quality franchise consultants. Upside Group provides franchisors with comprehensive solutions including marketing, sales, development, day-to-day operations, strategic planning and crisis control. As a previous owner of multiple franchises and President of a successful franchise system, Mario has helped many franchisors develop their systems in numerous industries. Mario is a published author and has been sought after as a guest speaker for various organizations including the International Franchise Association (IFA) and NOVA University, among others. Recently, Mario served as co-author of the Continued Legal Education (CLE) paper, ‘Use of Consultants and Paralegals in Franchising: Are you Aiding and Abetting the Unauthorized Practice of Law?’ which he presented at the 2011 American Bar Association’s (ABA) Forum on Franchising. Mario’s company, Upside Group, co-founded the acclaimed Franchising for Athletes Seminar Series. In addition, Upside Group and its franchise consultants were recently honored with three Davey Design awards for marketing and advertising through a nation-wide competition of 4,000 entries. Mario has set up franchise systems throughout the United States, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. Mario often lectures on the art of the sale as well as franchise operations, franchisee relations and strategic planning. Mario is a Member of the IFA and an Associate Member of the ABA. He has been honored as one of “Arizona’s Finest” by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and serves as a steering committee member for Lift Up America, an empowerment charity group designed with the goal of stamping out hunger domestically.


MARTY MYERS

Client Projects Manager
Marty serves as Upside Group’s Marketing and Client Projects Manager. Marty studied business at University of Kentucky. With a career in marketing management that spans over 15 years, Marty’s business experience encompasses the financial, real estate franchising, utilities, education and telecom industries. Having worked in the franchising industry for over a decade, Marty brings his knowledge of franchise branding and positioning, along with his marketing expertise to Upside Group Franchise Consulting. Marty is responsible for overseeing all steps involved in the creation of client deliverables acting as the liaison between the client and the USG staff, he ensures all USG clients receive the high-quality products and services that Upside Group Franchise Consulting delivers.

FELICIA BOCKRATH

Client Projects Manager
Felicia serves as Upside Group’s Marketing and Client Projects Manager. Felicia earned her Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Literature from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Felicia brings over 20 years of professional experience in multiple industries including Academic, Advertising, and Non-profits with positions ranging from Global Project Coordinator to Director of IT. In addition, I have acquired a broad range of skills including IT Technical Support, Operations Management, Financial Management, Stress-Free Productivity, HR Management, Project Management, Event Coordination and Strategic Planning.

APRIL ANDREWS

Social Media Marketing Manager
April serves as Upside Group Franchise Consulting’s Social Media Marketing Manager. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Communication from Temple University, she comes to us with a strong background in public relations, social media marketing, strategic planning, and event management. April is responsible for Upside Group Franchise Consulting and their client’s social media marketing efforts including content strategy, development of brand awareness, and generating leads and engagement with online audiences. /div>


ALLISON WALKER

Executive Administrator
Allison serves as Executive Administrator and brings almost 20 years’ experience in administration and office management to Upside Group Franchise Consulting. Allison comes to us from the east coast where, most recently, she held the position of Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer of a global, public institutional brokerage at their Times Square headquarters in New York. Prior to supporting the CEO, Allison held roles supporting their General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Global Marketing & Communications. Allison has direct corporate experience working in Executive Management, Legal & Compliance, Human Resources, Treasury, Marketing & Communications and Information Technology throughout various industries. In addition, Allison spent several years serving as Office Manager of a privately owned service business. She understands the nuances of small business verses corporate America and brings to Upside Group a unique skill set born of both environments. Allison’s current responsibilities include administration of our client SharePoint intranet, SharePoint training, facilitating client communications and orientation, event planning and coordination and management of vertical company communication systems. Allison works closely with all members of the Upside Group Franchise Consulting firm and our clients and vendors to ensure office support operations run smoothly.

LINDSEY SHERMAN

Franchise Development Coordinator
As the Franchise Development Coordinator, Lindsey sets high standards in the sales department of Upside Group Franchise Consulting. Her diverse background and expertise in business and franchising offers USG clients the potential for growth through franchise sales. Lindsey joined our company with an extensive background in real estate and sales. For the last decade, Lindsey has worked with nationally renowned non-profits as well political leaders in her local community. With Lindsey’s extensive background in residential and commercial real estate, she provides an unique perspective on franchise consulting. Lindsey’s responsibilities include working directly with franchisees throughout the country to achieve their business goals by educating franchisees through regional sales meetings, training owners and employees about technology, improving customer relations, and implementing franchise “best practices”. Lindsey’s knowledge and enthusiasm raise the bar higher each day for the Upside Group domestic and international franchise clients.

ZOE ZORKA

Marketing, Special Projects Manager, Business Development Coordinator, and IT Specialist
Zoe Zorka serves as Upside Group Franchise Consulting’s Marketing and Business Development Manager. Zoe graduated with a degree in communications from Colorado College in 2009. In 2011, she obtained her MBA from Colorado Technical University. In 2014, she graduated with her DBA from Colorado Technical University. Zoe came to Upside Group with experience as a technical writer, marketing manager, and content writer. With her innovative thinking, Zoe is responsible for overseeing USG’s support staff, social media interns, digital production, development and design of franchise marketing materials, search engine optimization, and working with clients to market their franchise businesses. Zoe is also responsible for managing clients’ marketing plans, portfolios, and corresponding strategies. Additionally, Zoe coordinates community outreach efforts and manages USG’s online presence, including; USG website, blog, social media, monthly newsletter, PR, and email marketing.  Zoe also serves as Upside Group’s creative design and information technology specialist. Under this role, Zoe develops marketing materials, websites, and maintains the Upside Group Franchise Consulting firm website, Intranet and computer-based infrastructure.

ELISABETH AMY-VOGT

Lead Technical Writer
Elisabeth Amy-Vogt (known as Betsy) has a background in direct response advertising and broadcast production, with over 15 years’ experience writing for clients that range from computer gaming company NetXstream to the Governor of the State of Texas. Originally from Great Britain, Betsy has travelled extensively, and uses her experience with other cultures when writing for USG clients based outside the United States. As Lead Writer, she is one of our most experienced manual writers, and an integral part of the USG manual writing team. Betsy’s attention to detail and vast knowledge of franchise manual creation, ensures USG clients that they are getting the most comprehensive manuals in the industry. When not sitting at her computer writing, Betsy catalogues Spanish books at her local community library, and volunteers her skills to the Akumal Coral Reef Restoration Project.
